Camping at Anderson Cove (Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest, Ut) near Huntsville

Public campground · Huntsville · 112 campsites · 5 group

A forested campground near fishing. Most campsites have no hookups, and RV fit varies by site.

About this campground

Anderson Cove sits on the shoreline of Pineview Reservoir about 10 miles east of Ogden, Utah, at roughly 5,000 feet elevation. The site feels more like a lakeside recreation area than a forest campground: open meadows and maintained lawns give way to pockets of shade trees and direct access to the reservoir for boating, fishing and swimming.

“This place was lovely!! They were very accommodating and helped with all of our needs!!”

Mindi O 5 · Sep 2025 · Recreation.gov

“THE BATHROOMS ARE WRETCHED. That is the only reason, well that and the lack of decent grassy area, but mostly the bathrooms, that makes it not 5 stars. I love the shade, the beach, the size of the camp spots.”

For July weekends, book about 178 days ahead. Three in four July Friday and Saturday arrivals were booked later than that, and half were booked 125 days or less before arrival. Past timing is guidance, not a guarantee of what is open now.

Months with fewer than 30 reservations of that kind are left blank. Sites where nearly every booking was made the day of arrival (pay on arrival) are left out. Closed seasons, windows not yet released for booking, and currently unavailable nights are separate from this history.

Based on Recreation.gov reservations, FY2015–2025 (19,892 reservations in the years scored). Counts reservations made, not nights actually camped: cancellations aren't in the data, and nights a site was closed count as not booked. FY2020–21 (COVID) are left out of the scores.
