Camping at Morris Hill Campground near Covington

Public campground · Covington · 53 campsites · 2 group

A forested campground near trout fishing, and hiking. Most campsites have no hookups, and RV fit varies by site.

About this campground

Recreational options are concentrated nearby: Coles Point Beach and boat ramp sit within a couple miles and draw swimmers and boaters, while a fishing pier less than a mile from the campground is popular for brown and rainbow trout, bass and crappie; Back Creek is another local trout spot. Hikers and bikers can use the Morris Hill Bike Trail and the Fortney Loop Trail for short to moderate outings through mixed hardwood and pine forest, and wildlife viewers often spot waterfowl on the lake and deer in the woods.

“Facilities were nice and clean. Near a good hiking trail. Campsite 23 & 24 are on top of each other. The fire pits and tables were right next to each other. Good thing there weren't any campers on site 23. It would be nice if two families or friends were camping together.”

Months with fewer than 30 reservations of that kind are left blank. Sites where nearly every booking was made the day of arrival (pay on arrival) are left out. Closed seasons, windows not yet released for booking, and currently unavailable nights are separate from this history.

Based on Recreation.gov reservations, FY2015–2025 (3,865 reservations in the years scored). Counts reservations made, not nights actually camped: cancellations aren't in the data, and nights a site was closed count as not booked. FY2020–21 (COVID) are left out of the scores.
