Lost Lake Group Unit sits on the northern edge of Lost Lake in the Tonasket Ranger District of the Okanogan-Wenatchee (Colville) National Forest, surrounded by mixed-conifer forest and mountains. The lake is a medium-sized body of water with a beach and an amphitheater within easy walking distance from the campground, and the setting supports abundant wildlife deer, porcupine, black bear, cougar, loons and bald eagles are regularly seen, while gray wolves and Canada lynx inhabit nearby ecosystems.
