Camping at Lower Falls Campground near Trout Lake

Public campground · Trout Lake · 41 campsites

A forested campground near trout fishing, hiking, and mountain biking. Most campsites have no hookups.

About this campground

Recreation here centers on river access and a network of nearby trailheads: the Lewis River Trail and several others within about 10 miles (including Trail #31 Lewis River, Trail #5 Quartz Creek, and Trail #80 Wright Meadows) offer hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding and motorcycle routes. Water features are a strong draw Lower Lewis River Falls, Curly Creek Falls, Big Creek Falls and Middle Falls are all within roughly a 15-minute drive and the Lewis River supports rainbow, cutthroat and bull trout plus whitefish (the area is catch-and-release only).

“We camped the last weekend of the season. We were happy to get a last minute trip in. From Sandy during work hour traffic it was a 3.5 hour drive. The falls are absolutely stunning. We will deff return! ”

Months with fewer than 30 reservations of that kind are left blank. Sites where nearly every booking was made the day of arrival (pay on arrival) are left out. Closed seasons, windows not yet released for booking, and currently unavailable nights are separate from this history.

Based on Recreation.gov reservations, FY2015–2025 (16,460 reservations in the years scored). Counts reservations made, not nights actually camped: cancellations aren't in the data, and nights a site was closed count as not booked. FY2020–21 (COVID) are left out of the scores.
