Camping at Highland Ridge near Spring Valley

Public campground · Spring Valley · 55 campsites · 3 group

A forested campground near fishing, and hiking. RV fit varies by site.

About this campground

Highland Ridge sits on the north side of the 150-acre Eau Galle Reservoir, opposite the dam, in a landscape of steep hills, bluffs, wooded valleys and streams that give the campground a sheltered, forested feel. Trails radiate out from the loops about seven miles worth for hikers with several overlook seating areas and a sandy swimming beach on the reservoir and horseback riders have their own routing through the lush hills.

“Great spot for a fall camping trip. Beautiful scenery. Lots of hiking and biking trails within an hour. Campground is well cared for including the leaves being blown of the campsite prior to arrival. One of my favorite trips.”

Larry N 5 · Oct 2025 · Recreation.gov

“My first time at this campground and found it convenient place to stay not far from the interstate. ”

Months with fewer than 30 reservations of that kind are left blank. Sites where nearly every booking was made the day of arrival (pay on arrival) are left out. Closed seasons, windows not yet released for booking, and currently unavailable nights are separate from this history.

Based on Recreation.gov reservations, FY2015–2025 (18,710 reservations in the years scored). Counts reservations made, not nights actually camped: cancellations aren't in the data, and nights a site was closed count as not booked. FY2020–21 (COVID) are left out of the scores.
