“Less is the best camp host! The bathrooms are alway immaculate and he’s so helpful. We’ve enjoyed having him as a camp host the last couple of years!”

Susan M 5 · Sep 2025 · Recreation.gov

“Small but beautiful campground along the creek, private sites in a dens wooded area, quiet except for the rushing waters. Host was very friendly and helpful, facilities very clean.”

Luke H 5 · Aug 2025 · Recreation.gov

“We have camped here a few times now, and just like previous experiences it was fantastic. Les is a great camp host, very kind and helpful. Thanks for another great stay and we are already looking forward to the next time we can come. ”

How far ahead to book Leigh Creek Campground

For July weekends, book about 128 days ahead. Three in four July Friday and Saturday arrivals were booked later than that, and half were booked 45 days or less before arrival. Past timing is guidance, not a guarantee of what is open now.

Months with fewer than 30 reservations of that kind are left blank. Sites where nearly every booking was made the day of arrival (pay on arrival) are left out. Closed seasons, windows not yet released for booking, and currently unavailable nights are separate from this history.

Based on Recreation.gov reservations, FY2015–2025 (2,417 reservations in the years scored). Counts reservations made, not nights actually camped: cancellations aren't in the data, and nights a site was closed count as not booked. FY2020–21 (COVID) are left out of the scores.
