Beyond the campground itself, the Coralville Lake project offers a wide range of outdoor pursuits. Anglers can chase largemouth and smallmouth bass, crappie, walleye and catfish; boaters and water-skiers launch from multiple ramps; and hikers and bikers can explore trails in the Dam Complex such as Squire Point, Woodpecker, Tailwater Riverwalk and the barrier-free Veterans Trail.

“Love camping at West Overlook. There is direct access to the water and you can also walk to Linder Point where you can get on hiking trails. The only negative is that the showers must have some sort of water filter that makes the flow VERY weak, more like a dribble.”
“Very clean restrooms and site. People camping followed rules. Very pretty.”
“I love this campground. Always clean, sites arent to close, level spots are easy to get set up in. ”

Months with fewer than 30 reservations of that kind are left blank. Sites where nearly every booking was made the day of arrival (pay on arrival) are left out. Closed seasons, windows not yet released for booking, and currently unavailable nights are separate from this history.
Based on Recreation.gov reservations, FY2015–2025 (36,328 reservations in the years scored). Counts reservations made, not nights actually camped: cancellations aren't in the data, and nights a site was closed count as not booked. FY2020–21 (COVID) are left out of the scores.
