Heyburn Park sits on Heyburn Lake in the Sandstone Hills of the Osage Section of the Central Lowlands, an area of grassland and gently sloping sandstone ridges dotted with oaks, hickory, ash, elm and cottonwood; in spring the hills brighten with wild plum and redbud blooms. The campground contains 48 sites in total: 47 are equipped to serve both RVs and tents with water and electric hookups (some sites offer 50-amp service), and one site is tent-only.
