Camping at Spinreel near Reedsport

Public campground · Reedsport · 36 campsites

A forested campground near fishing, and hiking. Most campsites have no hookups, and RV fit varies by site.

About this campground

Spinreel Campground sits inside the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area along Tenmile Creek, about 12 miles south of Reedsport off Highway 101 (turn onto Spinreel Road and follow it roughly a half mile). The site occupies a transition zone between tall sand dunes and coastal forest, with the Pacific Ocean a short distance to the west and Tenmile Lake upstream feeding the creek that runs past the campground.

“Mostly a good place for ATV folks. Too bad some knuckle heads have to modify exhaust systems so they are way too loud.”

Chris D 4 · Sep 2025 · Recreation.gov

“Great place to stay , Just wish they would add showers!”

Jim M 4 · Sep 2025 · Recreation.gov

“Site claimed to fit 2 vehicles 2 trailers up to 8 people only for 1 vehicle and small trailer. Wasps overwhelmed the camp sites.”

How far ahead to book Spinreel

Months with fewer than 30 reservations of that kind are left blank. Sites where nearly every booking was made the day of arrival (pay on arrival) are left out. Closed seasons, windows not yet released for booking, and currently unavailable nights are separate from this history.

Based on Recreation.gov reservations, FY2015–2025 (11,599 reservations in the years scored). Counts reservations made, not nights actually camped: cancellations aren't in the data, and nights a site was closed count as not booked. FY2020–21 (COVID) are left out of the scores.
