Camping at Cedar Breaks Park near Georgetown

Public campground · Georgetown · 62 campsites

A forested campground near fishing, hiking, and mountain biking. RV fit varies by site.

About this campground

Cedar Breaks Park sits on the south shore of Georgetown Lake in the central Texas Hill Country, roughly four miles west of the town of Georgetown and about 25 miles north of Austin. The lake itself is a reservoir on the north fork of the San Gabriel River, created when the dam was completed in 1979 to provide flood control and water supply; around the shoreline you'll find forests dominated by cedar and mixed hardwoods rather than open, manicured lawns.

“Great park at the lake with nice sized sites. Will return.”

Patrick M 4 · Oct 2025 · Recreation.gov

“I stayed at campsite #3, lots of shades and quite, however there was no electricity, 20V didn’t work at all and I had to use the electricity of the neighbor campsite, so disappointed.”

Months with fewer than 30 reservations of that kind are left blank. Sites where nearly every booking was made the day of arrival (pay on arrival) are left out. Closed seasons, windows not yet released for booking, and currently unavailable nights are separate from this history.

Based on Recreation.gov reservations, FY2015–2025 (44,318 reservations in the years scored). Counts reservations made, not nights actually camped: cancellations aren't in the data, and nights a site was closed count as not booked. FY2020–21 (COVID) are left out of the scores.
