Arch Dam Campground sits on the high, sage- and pinyon-dotted bench of Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area, inside Ashley National Forest at about 6,200 feet. The campground is less than a mile from Flaming Gorge Dam and the Green River spillway and about 3 miles from Flaming Gorge Reservoir and Cedar Springs Marina, so water activities are the big draw: the reservoir is known for lake, brown and rainbow trout and supports boating, water skiing, jet skiing, kayaking, canoeing, swimming and even scuba diving.
