Available Nov 13–15 · 2 nights2 sites open for every nightA forested campground near trout fishing, and hiking. Most campsites have no hookups, and RV fit varies by site.
Perched at roughly 1,800 feet in the shadow of Torry Ridge, Sherando Lake Recreation Area's Family Campground is centered between two clear, spring-fed lakes that shape much of the visitor experience. The lower lake is 25 acres with a sandy beach, a designated swimming area with an accessible ramp, and a beach bathhouse with changing and shower facilities; outside the swim zone, anglers and paddlers share cool water that's kept pleasant by springs and Williams Branch.

Length limits vary by campsite.
Limited electric sites.

“The trails were great to hike and the park is very close to the Blue Ridge parkway which was a beautiful drive and had some great trails off of it as well.”
Bernard Z ★ 5 · Oct 2025Excellent campground. Big level sites. Free showers. Electric. Nice swimming lake. Hiking. Beautiful trees everywhere. A little off beaten patch but worth it. Only issue is dump station has no water pressure to flush your black tank. Hose is there. Just a trickle of water. Overall great campground.
Timothy B ★ 5 · Oct 2025The facilities were clean and operating as designed. The Camp host was friendly and helpful. The trails were great to hike and the park is very close to the Blue Ridge parkway which was a beautiful drive and had some great trails off of it as well. I hope to return in the future.
Mary J S ★ 4 · Oct 2025This was just an overnight stop.

Months with fewer than 30 reservations of that kind are left blank. Sites where nearly every booking was made the day of arrival (pay on arrival) are left out. Closed seasons, windows not yet released for booking, and currently unavailable nights are separate from this history.
Based on Recreation.gov reservations, FY2015–2025 (26,269 reservations in the years scored). Counts reservations made, not nights actually camped: cancellations aren't in the data, and nights a site was closed count as not booked. FY2020–21 (COVID) are left out of the scores.
