Camping at Potwisha Campground near Three Rivers

Public campground · Three Rivers · 37 campsites

A forested campground near fishing, and hiking. Most campsites have no hookups, and RV fit varies by site.

About this campground

Potwisha Campground sits along the Generals Highway in the Sierra Foothills of Sequoia National Park, beside the Marble Fork of the Kaweah River and roughly four miles past the Ash Mountain entrance. The site offers a low-elevation foothill landscape where grassy valley floors meet granite outcrops and river canyons; oaks, chaparral, and abundant birdlife are common, and visitors may spot mule deer, bobcats, and American black bears.

“Very good tent camping everywhere. No showers but clean bathrooms with flush toilets. High bear activity in the area so just be clean.”

alex h 4 · Oct 2025 · Recreation.gov

“All out leveling blocks couldn’t make #5 spot level. Brush and trees all needed serious trimming. The bathrooms were clean with normal flushing toilets though. ”

Based on Recreation.gov reservations, FY2015–2025 (43,516 reservations in the years scored). Counts reservations made, not nights actually camped: cancellations aren't in the data, and nights a site was closed count as not booked. FY2020–21 (COVID) are left out of the scores.
